About me

Hi, I’m Hely, and if you’re here, chances are flying makes you anxious, or downright terrified. And trust me, I get it. You might have never been on a plane before or maybe you suffer every time you get near an aircraft. The thing is: this fear is stopping you from discovering the world, and you want this to change.

For years, I sat through flights feeling completely on edge, convinced that every little noise or movement meant something was wrong. I spent hours Googling ‘how safe is flying?’ hoping to find a single, clear source that explained everything in a way that actually made me feel better.

But instead of letting fear control me forever, I decided to face it head-on. I learned everything I could about aviation, flight safety, and anxiety management. I asked the “dumb” questions, I took flights even when my brain screamed nope, and slowly but surely, I got better.

That journey led me to create The Calm Cabin because this is exactly what I wish I had when I was terrified of flying. A space where aviation is explained in a simple, approachable way, fear is met with understanding, and you can find real tools to fly with confidence.
